STARJOGJA.COM, Info – The new decision on Covid-19 was taken by the Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Most recently, the Yogyakarta regional government extended Covid-19’s emergency response period to July 31, 2020.
“Our status is extended to 30 July. There is a background for this extension that we consider community behavior still needs to be improved,” said Head of Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) DIY, Biwara Yuswantana on Thursday (6/25/2020).
The results of the Yogyakarta emergency response decision were taken after going through a meeting that involved at the Regency / City level and the Security and Law Enforcement Division. As a result the community must understand more in the dissemination and education about implementing health protocols.

“According to the observation of the Pam Gakum division in public activities, there are still many people who do not wear masks and do not keep their distance. We will open new or normal economic activities, so it must be balanced with health protocol discipline, “he said.
The regional government said that if necessary, intensive handling of the sectors affected specifically both economically and socially with budget support. However, the Regional Government of DIY will also prepare economic activities ranging from tourism, hotels to shopping centers.

Biwara said that this new normal Covid-19 test, either rapid or swab, would be intensified. The district government has also agreed to conduct mass tests which will be used for future steps and policies.
